Se pare ca sarbatorile legale si weekend-urile sunt preferate atunci cand astfel de operatiuni sunt declansate sau finalizate. Ministerul Culturii nu a intervenit suficient de ferm (de altfel nici nu dispune de instrumente eficiente sau de personal...patrimoniul nu pare sa fie intre preocuparile sale principale din ultimul timp), primaria inchide ochii desi are raspunderi clare in protectia monumentelor aflate in litigiu, politia nu intervine prompt desi e singura institutie care ar putea s-o faca. Procurorii decid, se pare, neinceperea urmaririi penale in cazuri de distrugere de monument dat fiind ca chestiunea nu prezinta pericol public (!!!!) desi, conform declaratiilor politiei, o persoana a murit in timpul acestor operatiuni la Moara Assan:  "Împreună cu colegii de la poliţie au fost verificaţi şi cei care sînt cunoscuţi că mai activează în această zonă pentru sustragerea diferitelor materiale. [...] Se desfăşurau nişte operaţiuni, persoanele fugind în momentul în care clădirea s-a prăbuşit. [...] Este un loc din care se scoate cărămidă, fier vechi, alte materiale refolosibile pentru a fi comercializate." (col. S.A. in aceasta dimineata, prin amabilitatea doamnei Oana Branzan - purtator de cuvant. &lt;div&gt;Desi in ultimele saptamani mai multe cotidiene (Romania Libera, Adevarul de Resita)  au redat informatia potrivit careia calea ferata Oravita Anina este pe cale de a fi inchisa, iar surse locale au confirmat existenta hotararii Societatii Nationale de Transport de Calatori - C.F.R. Este o excepţională realizare tehnică şi una dintre cele mai abrupte căi ferate fără cremalieră din Europa, fiind deseori comparata, pe buna dreptate, atat datorita calitatilor sale tehnice cat si frumusetii peisajului, cu linia austriaca &lt;span class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1288344972_2"&gt;Semmering&lt;/span&gt;inscrisa in Lista Patrimoniului Mondial &lt;span class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1288344972_3"&gt;UNESCO&lt;/span&gt;. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0px; "&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;În mod paradoxal, Societatea Feroviara de Turism “S.F.T . – C.F.R .” SA, creată tocmai pentru exploatarea unor astfel de linii istorice cu potenţial turistic, nu a utilizat acest traseu, cel mai spectaculos şi valoros din ţară. &lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;Atunci când este vorba de valori ale patrimoniului cultural naţional, nu rentabilitatea ar trebui să fie însă principalul criteriu de evaluare.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 36pt; text-align: justify; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; "&gt;&lt;span lang="RO" style="letter-spacing: 0pt; "&gt;&lt;span style="white-space: pre-wrap; "&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;Interesant este că turiştii străini – majoritatea din &lt;span class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1288344972_4"&gt;Austria&lt;/span&gt; şi &lt;span class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1288344972_5"&gt;Germania&lt;/span&gt;, ţări cu tradiţie în turismul feroviar – fără ca liniei să i se facă vreo reclamă în străinătate – vin vara în număr mult mai mare decât românii: renumele căii ferate Oraviţa-Anina zboară doar prin viu grai şi internet, prin pozele transmise de cei care au parcurs-o cu trenul. De asemenea specialişti din România şi străinătate sunt deosebit de interesaţi de această excepţională realizare tehnică de la jumătatea secolului al XIX-lea despre care au publicat numeroase articole şi studii.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 36pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 36pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; "&gt;&lt;span lang="RO" style="letter-spacing: 0pt; "&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;O promovare organizată la nivel central (Ministerul Turismului, Regionala de CF Timişoara, Societatea de Turism Feroviar etc) va putea face mult mai mult. Parteneriatul direct cu asociaţiile de “Eisenbahnfans” sau cu retele de turism industrial din Europa va aduce cu siguranţă mai mulţi vizitatori. În cazul în care CFR nu mai poate administra eficient acest traseu, o parte dintre responsabilităţi pot fi preluate de cele două primării – Oraviţa şi Anina, care şi-au arătat deja disponibilitatea în acest sens prin demersuri oficiale. Specialişti străini cu experienţă în recuperarea unor astfel de trasee istorice pot fi cooptaţi în proiecte cu finanţare europeană.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 35.45pt; text-align: justify; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; "&gt;&lt;span lang="RO" style="letter-spacing: 0pt; "&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 36pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 36pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; "&gt;&lt;span lang="RO" style="letter-spacing: 0pt; "&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;Aşa cum ştim din experienţe anterioare de linii închise şi şi intrate în „conservare” (a se vedea linia cu cremalieră Bouţari – Subcetate, dispărută în întregime) oprirea circulaţiei trenurilor (decisă de conducerea CFR Călători începând cu data de 1 noiembrie 2010), va duce în mod sigur la degradarea ireversibilă şi extrem de rapidă a liniei. Se va fura totul, de la şine la cabluri de semnalizare, de la cărămizile cantoanelor din 1863 la arcurile vagoanelor. 33 de kilometri prin pădure şi pe abrupturi stâncoase sunt greu de păzit, iar zona întreagă, defavorizată, cu o rată a şomajului ridicată, supravieţuieşte în parte şi datorită recuperării de material...&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 35.45pt; text-align: justify; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; "&gt;&lt;span lang="RO" style="letter-spacing: 0pt; "&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 36pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 36pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; "&gt;&lt;span lang="RO" style="letter-spacing: 0pt; "&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;O singură pereche de trenuri pe zi ar asigura supravieţuirea acestei importante căi ferate până la găsirea unei soluţii de exploatare turistică profitabilă ce ar oferi locuri de muncă şi ar contribui la dezvoltarea economică a zonei. S-ar putea asigura un viitor turistic unei întregi zone defavorizate: Oraviţa, Anina, Reşiţa şi restul localităţilor implicate în minerit şi metalurgie, unde şomajul este deosebit de ridicat dar frumuseţile naturii, rezervaţiile naturale, tradiţiile locale şi patrimoniul construit (nu în ultimul rând cel industrial) pot constitui tot atâtea atracţii turistice. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 36pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 36pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; "&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;&lt;span lang="RO" style="letter-spacing: 0pt; "&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;Dacă această abordare ar fi fost pusă în practică de CFR, linia Oraviţa – Anina ar fi fost acum, după 20 de ani de “capitalism”, una dintre atracţiile României în lume. &lt;i&gt;Oraviţa – Anina&lt;/i&gt; ar fi putut deveni un brand…&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 35.45pt; text-align: justify; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; "&gt;&lt;span lang="RO" style="letter-spacing: 0pt; "&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 36pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 36pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; "&gt;&lt;span lang="RO" style="letter-spacing: 0pt; "&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;Asociaţia pentru Arheologie Industrială din &lt;span class="yshortcuts" id="lw_1288344972_6"&gt;Romania&lt;/span&gt; – AIR face un apel către &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;Compania Naţională de Căi Ferate CFR SA&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;şi către &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span lang="RO" style="letter-spacing: 0pt; "&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"&gt;toate forurile de decizie în domeniu pentru păstrarea în funcţiune a căii ferate Oraviţa-Anina. În acelaşi timp AIR, organism afiliat Comitetului Internaţional pentru Conservarea patrimoniului Industrial (TICCIH), îşi oferă colaborarea pentru realizarea studiilor necesare precum şi pentru cooptarea de specialişti străini în vederea elaborarii unui plan de punere în valoare si promovare a acestei bijuterii tehnice. Suntem convinşi că sute de entuziaşti ai căilor ferate din România vor dori de asemenea sa contribuie la salvarea acestui monument tehnic de valoare europeana. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify; (Cod L.M.I. 2004 B-II-m-A-19692). Moara Assan reprezinta un moment de referinta pentru dezvoltarea industriei romanesti atat prin calitatea arhitecturala a imobilelor cat si prin dotarea tehnica la momentul constructiei - 1853. Moara Assan este, de asemenea, unul dintre putinii martori inca pastrati privind evolutia industriala a orasului, nu rare fiind exemplele de constructii industriale valoroase demolate in ultimii ani. Ei aveau la acea data, in asociatie, o pravalie mare sub firma "Crucea de aur" (in alt loc gasim "Cucul de aur"- D.Z. Furnica) din Hanul Serban Voda, pe strada Lipscani colt cu Smirdan (fosta Germana).&lt;br /&gt;Intrind in tratative cu firma Siegel din Viena, au adus in 1853 masina cu vapori si toata instalatia necesara punerii in functiune a morii. Transportul cazanului, in greutate de 7000 kg., s-a facut in doua etape: doua saptamini pe Dunare, de la Viena la Giurgiu si patru saptamini de la Giurgiu la la Bucuresti, pe sosele aflate intr-o stare foarte proasta. Cazanul a fost transportat circa 60 km. pe un car tras de zece perechi de boi, cu rotile ferecate si o platforma solida, fiind necesara refacerea si consolidarea tuturor podurilor si podetelor de pe traseu. Deasemenea, pe portiunile unde soseaua era in stare proasta, se puneau scinduri groase care dupa ce erau depasite se mutau iar in fata.&lt;br /&gt;Moara a fost instalata cu toate anexele pe un teren cu suprafata de 40000 mp, pe Soseaua Stefan cel Mare nr. 103 (mai tirziu 131; 139), fiind delimitat de Str. Lizeanu si Soseaua Colentina.&lt;br /&gt;Cind cosul principal al fabricii, prevazut de 24 m, a ajuns aproape de 10 m primaria orasului a intervenit si a stopat constructia lui " sub cuvint ca: ce, o sa se ajunga la cer?...". Numai dupa ce au fost facute demersuri repetate si s-a platit o cautiune a continuat constructia pina la inaltimea stabilita, "moara de foc de la Obor" sau "vaporul lui Assan" devenind pentru un timp punctul de curiozitate al imprejurimilor. Insa o problema a fost sa fie convinsi brutarii sa macine aici, existind temerea ca faina astfel produsa se arde si nu se mai poate face piine cu ea. Norocul a fost ca a venit iarna deosebit de geroasa si morile de apa inghetind au fost nevoiti sa incerce si acesta a fost inceputul sfirsitului pentru morile de apa din Bucuresti.&lt;br /&gt;In anul 1865, George Assan se desparte de asociatul sau si ramine singurul propietar al fabricii. Dupa moartea sa, in 1866, conducerea intreprinderii a ramas sotiei acestuia, Alexandrina, care o lasa apoi in anul 1884 celor doi fii, Basile si Gheorghe, care isi facusera studiile in strainatate. In 1894 a fost infiintata de catre acestia o noua sectie de lacuri si culori, iar moara macina la acea data 7 vagoane de griu in 24 de ore.&lt;br /&gt;In anul 1903 a fost sarbatorita o jumatate de secol de la infiintare si cu acest prilej s-au mai adaugat citeva constructii, "iar la cladirea principala in virful turnului s-a pus un ceas mare, avind dedesubt, in cifre de bronz, mari si vizibile de departe, anii 1853 - 1903.&lt;br /&gt;Ceasul lui Assan, care functiona foarte exact, a fost zeci de ani masuratorul timpului pentru toti oamenii din cartierul Obor-Colentina." Potra).&lt;br /&gt;In 1903 se construieste un nou siloz de grane, care e cea mai inalta cladire din Bucuresti - 41 m inaltime, 28 de silozuri (magazii) si doua etaje sub ele avind capacitatea de inmagazinare de 700 vagoane. Materialul folosit a fost lemnul (pentru conservarea grinelor) izolat intr-un ambalaj de beton la fund si zidarie pe lature (pereti din scinduri de la Sinaia si Azuga, puse pe lat si batute in cuie - 50 de vagoane de scinduri si un vagon de cuie); acoperisul era de fier. Assan)&lt;br /&gt;Inainte de acesta a existat insa un alt siloz, construit in 1892 si care a functionat pina la terminarea celui mare in 1906, "syloz - magazie de grane / system american" - dupa planurile constructorului G. Luther din Braunschweig, executantul sylozurilor din Galatz - Braila (PMB - Serviciul Tehnic, autorizatie constructie cu plan si sectiune din 27 aprilie 1892, dosar nr. 63 / 1892)&lt;br /&gt;Dupa 1903, moara Assan a fost dotata cu energie electrica, avind uzina proprie iar  in iunie 1930 a fost transformata in Societate Anonima pe actiuni cu un capital de 4 milioane lei deplin varsat, sub denumirea "Fabricele Assan", care cuprindeau patru industrii diferite: macinarea cerealelor, uleiuri vegetale, lacuri si culori, sapunuri si chit.&lt;br /&gt;Fabrica a fost permanent adusa la zi cu cele mai noi utilaje si tehnologii, fratii Assan fiind interesati de tot ceea ce e mai nou si mai bun in domeniul industrial, facind numeroase calatorii in toata lumea in acest scop.   In August 1943 s-au introdus gazele naturale de catre Societatea Generala de Gaz si Electricitate, Electrogaz S.A.R. ca urmare a Decretului-Lege nr. 107 dat de catre Ministerul Inzestrarii Armatei si al Productiei de Rasboiu (cu termen limita la 17 septembrie 1943). In 1974 se da in folosinta fabrica de piine "Graul" azi  S.C. arhitectural ameninţat&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Miercuri, 30 ianuarie 2008, de la ora 18.30, la Institutul Cultural Român (Aleea Alexandru nr. 38, Bucureşti) va avea loc dezbaterea „Bucureşti – vechi oraş industrial?”.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Întâlnirea, moderată de arh. Irina Iamandescu, este cea de-a doua dintr-o serie dedicată de ICR fenomenelor arhitecturale şi urbanistice româneşti şi este organizată în parteneriat cu Asociaţia Română de Arheologie Industrială. Vor participa arhitecţii Constantin Goagea (revista Arhitectura), Adrian Crăciunescu şi Gabriel Panasiu (Universitatea de Arhitectură şi Urbanism Ion Mincu, Bucureşti), Attila Kim (Studio KBD).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Printre invitaţi se numără ICOMOS Romania, Uniunea Arhitecţilor, Ordinul Arhitecţilor, reprezentanţi ai autorităţilor locale sau centrale. Dezbaterea, deschisă publicului, are ca punct de pornire constatarea că un patrimoniu cu un important potenţial cultural şi turistic tinde să dispară sub presiunea “dezvoltatorilor urbani”:&lt;br /&gt;„Astăzi e răspîndită la noi părerea că vechile hale şi depozite, morile albite de făină, abatoarele şi depourile de tramvaie nu mai au valoare decît prin terenul de sub ele. Aşa că magnaţii afacerilor imobiliare le dau jos ca să ridice pe locul lor cartiere rezidenţiale plate, supraevaluate, mall-uri, blocuri de birouri şi alte construcţii fără stil şi fără personalitate. E o crimă. Mai rău, o idioţie. (...) Nu merităm să avem un prezent dacă ne distrugem mai departe, şi în libertate, precum sub fosta dictatură, trecutul. Avem nevoie de o nouă definiţie şi valorizare a trecutului nostru arhitectonic, care să includă aspectul său burghez, negustoresc şi industrial. Cîteva capodopere abstruse ale sale încă supravieţuiesc. E timpul să facem ceva cu ele.” – Mircea Cărtărescu, „O crimă şi o idioţie”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Discuţiile vor fi însoţite de ilustrări, între care o expoziţie de proiecte de diplomă ale studenţilor arhitecţi dedicate conversiei patrimoniului industrial.
